KOI calls efficiency a challenge to achieving success at the Asian Games

Chairman of the Indonesian Olympic Committee (KOI), Raja Sapta Oktohari, stated that budget efficiency by the government is a challenge for Indonesian sports in achieving success at the 2026 Asian Games.

"Whatever the challenges, our struggle remains focused on making the Indonesian national anthem Indonesia Raya resound and the Red and White flag fly. That's absolutely essential," Oktohari told the media at the 2026 Annual Meeting.

He responded to questions about the impact of the government's budget efficiency policy on the 2026 Asian Games sporting achievement targets.

Oktohari said the main task of athletes, coaches, and sports administrators is to continue training and competing.

Therefore, he said, whatever the conditions faced, including budget efficiency, KOI together with all members will strive internationally so that athletes perform optimally and bring honor to Indonesia.
