The Indonesian National Sports Committee has inaugurated and confirmed the Executive Board of the Indonesian Rafting Federation for the 2026-2030 term, with a focus on developing rafting-based sports tourism.
The Chairman of the Indonesian National Sports Committee , Marciano Norman, stated that Indonesia has enormous natural resources to make whitewater rafting a leading sport and a driving force for the tourism sector.
"I hope white water rafting will become a leading sport, because Indonesia's natural environment is very familiar to Indonesian rafting athletes," said Marciano after the inauguration of the FAJI Executive Board.
He asked PB FAJI to strengthen synergy with the Ministry of Tourism to optimize whitewater rafting tourist destinations in various regions.
According to Marciano, regional, national and international championships can be a means to strengthen sports tourism and attract domestic and international tourists.
