Manchester City's management is considering the future of Egyptian striker Omar Marmoush within the team, amid growing interest in signing him from major European clubs, most notably Barcelona of Spain.

According to a report by "CaughtOffside", City's management is currently reassessing Marmoush's role in the squad and his market value in anticipation of any potential offer during the upcoming summer transfer window, especially since the player has not been able to establish himself as a first choice in coach Pep Guardiola's plan since joining the Sky Blues.

Although Marmoush is not actively pushing to leave Manchester City, he is of course keen to get more playing time, and he is likely to meet with club officials at the end of the current season to discuss their future plans for him.

On the other hand, most sources indicate that City's management is open to the idea of selling if they receive a suitable offer, with the player's price set in the range of 60-65 million euros.

Barcelona are the frontrunners to sign Marmoush, as the Catalan club are looking for a replacement for Polish striker Robert Lewandowski, whose contract is nearing its end and who is expected to officially announce his departure soon.

Argentine international Julian Alvarez, the Atletico Madrid striker, had long been considered the main candidate to succeed Lewandowski, but the high cost of his transfer prompted Barcelona to seriously consider Marmoush as a more financially realistic alternative.

No official contact has been made yet, but Barcelona is expected to intensify its interest in the Egyptian player in the coming period, especially with the clear possibility of him being added to the list of players available for negotiation.

Besides Barcelona, Premier League clubs such as Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa have previously expressed interest in Marmoush, although it is not yet confirmed whether this interest still exists for this summer.

Reports indicate that Manchester City would prefer to sell the player to clubs outside England if possible, especially with signs that Marmoush is personally open to the idea of returning to the German league, where he previously shone with Eintracht Frankfurt, making German clubs strong candidates to sign him if he becomes officially available.

Marmoush, 27, joined Man City in January 2025 from German side Eintracht Frankfurt in a massive deal worth 75 million euros.

The Egyptian striker is under contract with City until 2029.
