Minister of Communication and Digital Meutya Hafid stated that the Radio Frequency Spectrum Monitoring Center must be at the forefront of efforts to maintain digital security.
"The National Police Chief must be a reliable spearhead in ensuring Indonesia's digital space remains safe, orderly, and beneficial for all citizens," he said, as quoted in a ministry press release in Jakarta on Thursday.
While visiting the Medan Balmon Office on Wednesday (13/5), he said that all Balmon SFR personnel in Indonesia must be at the forefront of efforts to ensure the quality of telecommunications services for the public.
He emphasized that the SFR Balmon is not just a technical frequency monitoring unit, but rather an extension of the state in maintaining communication connectivity in the region.
"The Balmon is the face of the government in the regions. When disaster strikes, people don't ask about their duties; they seek the presence of the government," he said.
He said that the role of Balmon SFR is increasingly strategic along with the improvement of national digital infrastructure.
According to him, Balmon SFR needs to use the latest technology to increase efficiency in carrying out its duties of monitoring the use of the radio frequency spectrum.
"We must boldly adopt new technologies, including artificial intelligence, to create faster, more efficient, and more adaptive monitoring systems. Although the equipment is increasingly sophisticated and expensive, the potential for greater efficiency is much greater," he explained.
