Manchester City will build a statue for Pep Guardiola

Manchester City will erect a statue for their legendary coach Joseph "Pep" Guardiola, which will be placed in the northern area of the Etihad Stadium, Manchester.

Manchester City Club owner Sheikh Mansour said that the creation of this statue was a tribute to what Pep Guardiola had done while coaching The Citizens.

"I said that Manchester City must have the best people, both on and off the pitch. For ten years, Pep has been the personification of that ambition," Sheikh Mansour was quoted as saying on Manchester City's official.

The Pep Guardiola statue was commissioned following the Spanish manager's tenure at the Etihad Stadium at the end of the season.

The former Barcelona manager has decided to step down as Manchester City manager despite still having one year left on his contract.

"He has left an indelible mark on the club's DNA. He is largely responsible for how he achieved success and led the club to numerous trophies," said Sheikh Mansour.
