McFarlane urges Chelsea to show their best form against City

Chelsea interim manager Calum McFarlane has urged his side to show their best form against Manchester City in the FA Cup final at Wembley Stadium in London on Saturday.

Quoted from the club's official website on Saturday, McFarlane is confident his squad is ready to face the challenge and emphasized the level Chelsea requires.

"The players have the belief that they can beat anyone – we just know we have to be the best version of ourselves," said McFarlane.

Regarding Manchester City's strength, McFarlane explained that Pep Guardiola's squad is a tough team filled with quality coaches and players.

Despite acknowledging Manchester City's strength, the English coach is confident Chelsea have the ability to pose a threat.

"So it's going to be a challenge. But we also have some very good players, and these players have shown that when they're at their best, they can beat anyone," McFarlane said.

McFarlane explained that a match of the class of Manchester City requires special preparation, but the time his squad has does not allow for that.

He and the Chelsea coaching staff stick to a regular routine to help control any nerves or high emotions that arise before a match.

"We're going to have the same processes in how we work on a day-to-day basis, whether it's player meetings, individual meetings, everything will be the same," McFarlane said.

"We'll try to keep it as normal as possible and try to get the same performance we got against Leeds and Liverpool. But, of course, it's a big game and you can't avoid it. We all want to win," he said.
