Players' lack of focus was the reason PSIM was defeated by Arema

PSIM Yogyakarta coach Jean Paul Van Gastel stated that the 3-1 defeat to Arema FC at Kanjuruhan Stadium, Malang Regency, East Java, occurred because the players were not focused in the first half.

"I think in the first half, not many players were focused on the game and were immediately punished by goals due to their own mistakes," said van Gastel.

Arema's first goal came in the 2nd minute after Dalberto Luan penetrated PSIM's penalty box, then released a perfect pass to Joel Vinicius who tore through Cahya Supriadi's goal.

He assessed that Arema had succeeded in maximizing the physical strengths of its players.

Therefore, during the half-time break, van Gastel changed tactics so that his team would play aggressively.

This change in tactics made PSIM dare to take the risk of playing more offensively.
