Raymond/Joaquin are out of the 2026 Singapore Open due to knee injuries

Indonesian young men's doubles pair Raymond Indra/Nikolaus Joaquin have been confirmed to be unable to participate in the 2026 BWF World Tour Super 750 Singapore Open after Raymond experienced a problem with his left knee ahead of the team's departure to Singapore.

Indonesian men's doubles coach Antonius Budi Ariantho said the decision to withdraw Raymond/Joaquin was taken to prevent their condition from worsening amidst the busy BWF tournament schedule.

"For the past week, Raymond has been complaining of discomfort in his left back knee. He's tried therapy and adjusted his training regimen, but during his final examination before departure, he still felt discomfort," Antonius said in a written statement from the Indonesian Badminton Association (PBSI) on Sunday.

According to Antonius, Raymond is actually still able to compete, but his physical condition is not considered optimal enough to compete in a tournament at the level of the Singapore Open.

"Rather than force them to go, I've decided to withdraw Raymond/Joaquin from the 2026 Singapore Open. They can still play, but they won't be at their best because some of their movements aren't quite as fluid and there are some awkward moments," he said.
