The Russian women’s team achieved a remarkable feat at the third leg of the Synchronized Swimming World Cup held in Xi’an, China, by winning the gold medal in the free team program competition.

The Russian team, consisting of Maya Doroshko, Ekaterina Kosova, Elizaveta Minaeva, Svetlana Pavlova, Alexandra Schmidt, Evelina Simonova, Elizaveta Smirnova, and Olga Tyutyunik, earned 260.0196 points to lead the competition.
The Chinese team came in second place with 243.9575 points, while the Italian team came in third place (235.7576 points).
The third stage of the Synchronized Swimming World Cup concludes in Xi'an, China, tomorrow, Sunday, with Russian athletes competing under the Russian flag, and their national anthem being played if they win, marking a return to full international participation after a period of restrictions.
Last April, the International Aquatics Federation granted final approval for Russian athletes to participate in all its championships under their country's flag and national anthem.
