Sony Xperia 1 VIII debuts with improved telephoto camera

The Sony Xperia 1 VIII smartphone was launched with improved telephoto camera support and artificial intelligence-based software features.

According to a Gizmochina release on Wednesday, the latest Sony Xperia smartphone comes with improved imaging performance, audio quality, and processing capabilities.

The Sony Xperia 1 VIII features a 6.5-inch LTPO OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and creator-focused color tuning support. The display is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus 2.

The telephoto camera system on this device has been upgraded. The continuous zoom setup found on the previous model has been replaced by a 70mm telephoto camera featuring a 1/1.56-inch sensor and 48MP resolution.

According to the company, the larger sensor on the Sony Xperia 1 VIII is designed to capture better details and improve photo quality in low-light conditions.

The phone also features a 48 MP main camera, a 48 MP ultra-wide sensor, and a 12 MP front camera.

Sony says multi-frame RAW processing works across all rear cameras to improve dynamic range and reduce image noise .
