Indonesian male rock climber Tri Ramadani, often called Srondeng, was stopped in the semifinals of the 2026 Wujiang World Climbing Series in China on Saturday, after only finishing ninth in the round.
Srondeng managed to collect a score of 36+, but failed to break into the top eight, which is a prerequisite for qualifying for the final round.
Srondeng's score was actually equal to that of Japanese climber Neo Suzuki, but his higher ranking in the qualifying round on Friday (May 8) meant that the representative from the Land of the Rising Sun was entitled to a ticket to the final.
In the qualifying round Srondeng was in fourth place, while Suzuki was in first place with his compatriot, Satone Yoshida, who scored the top score or reached the anchor at the top of the route.
Yoshida repeated his impressive performance in the semifinals by topping the scoreboard after winning the top spot .
Spanish climber Alberto Ginez Lopez finished second, followed by France's Sam Avezou, after both posted scores of 39+.
The results of the semifinal round left Indonesia without representatives in the lead number of the Wujiang series, both for the men's and women's sectors.
