The 12th China International Big Data Industry Expo will be held in Guiyang, capital of southwest China's Guizhou Province, in August this year, the local government announced.
As the world's first big data-themed expo, the event has become a key indicator of the development of the global digital economy and a key platform for exchanging industry achievements since its inception in 2015.
The National Data Administration of China will host this year's expo, and the Guizhou Provincial People's Government will organize it. This year's edition will feature six exhibition sections covering a professional exhibition area of 60,000 square meters.
According to Guiyang Deputy Mayor Fu Tao, the city is making every effort to build itself into a computing power supply base for the country and a digital economy innovation center in western China.
To date, Guiyang has assembled 27 large and super-large computing centers, with a total computing power exceeding 165 Eflops. Intelligent computing accounts for more than 98 percent of the total, with a localization rate reaching 90 percent, making it one of the regions in China with the most abundant and capable local computing resources.
