The World Cup is a motivation for young people to pursue sports

Indonesian football observer Mohammad Kusnaeni believes the 2026 World Cup will be a momentum to motivate the younger generation, especially " Gen Z ," to pursue sports as an alternative investment for the future.

"The previous World Cup has produced many young soccer stars, who have inspired many of our young people to aspire to become athletes or soccer players," he said in a dialogue with RRI Tanjungpinang, Riau Islands.

Not only that, according to him, the World Cup also makes people more aware of the world of football and the supporting components within it.

The man familiarly known as Bung Kus said that football matches do not just appear on television and on green fields, but go through a series of long processes supported by various components.

"Football is an ecosystem comprised of dozens of mutually supportive components. Without these components, there would be no football match," he said.
