Verhoeven brought a kickboxing approach to defeat world champion Usyk

Boxer Rico Verhoeven is ready to bring his signature kickboxing fighting approach to defeat world heavyweight champion (above 90.7kg) Oleksandr Usyk in a duel at the Giza Pyramids, Egypt, on May 23.

"I will bring a kickboxing perspective; I will present a different challenge," Rico Verhoeven said on the official World Boxing Council (WBC) website, which was monitored.

The Dutch kickboxing legend said he would throw his best punches to take down Usyk.

"I'm a natural heavyweight fighter," he said, expressing his gratitude for the opportunity to be part of such a big event.

Verhoeven has been competing at the elite professional kickboxing level since 2005. For nearly two decades, he has performed at the highest level and established himself as one of the greatest heavyweight kickboxing champions of all time.
