WhatsApp introduces Incognito Chat, Meta AI claims high privacy security

Meta has introduced an Incognito chat feature for Meta AI on WhatsApp, which claims to provide completely private conversations powered by artificial intelligence (AI), emphasizing user privacy protection as a primary focus.

In an online video conference  Meta stated that the feature was built using "Private Processing" technology so that user conversations with Meta AI cannot be seen by other parties, including Meta itself.

“Incognito chats with Meta AI are completely private, no one can read your conversations, not even us,” said WhatsApp VP & Head of Product, Alice Newton-Rex.

Alice explained that the feature was introduced because more and more users are using AI to search for information and ask sensitive questions, ranging from financial matters, health, work, to personal documents.

He said privacy has been a major concern since the company started developing AI integration in WhatsApp.
