The Austrian national football team achieved a 3-1 victory over the Jordanian national football team in the match that brought them together as part of the 2026 World Cup competitions.
Romano Schmid opened the scoring for Austria in the 20th minute with a powerful shot from outside the penalty area, before Jordan managed to equalize through Ali Alwan in the 50th minute after an organized counter-attack led by Nour Al-Rawabdeh.
In the 76th minute, Jordan scored an own goal by Yazan Al-Arab , giving Austria the advantage again, before Marko Arnautovic decided the match in stoppage time (90+12) from a penalty kick.
With this victory, the Austrian national team earned its first three points in the tournament, while the Jordanian national team continued its first World Cup appearance with a competitive performance despite the loss.
