Bigetron by Vitality and EVOS had to go through a tough path in the MPL Indonesia Season 17 playoffs after both were in the same chart as ONIC, one of the most consistent teams throughout the regular season.
"What's certain is that we're fully prepared for any team or opponent, and we'll continue to take each step to reach the top," ONIC coach CW said in a written statement.
The MPL Indonesia Season 17 Playoffs will take place at the International Velodrome on June 10-14, 2026. The path between BTR, EVOS, and ONIC is predicted to be one of the tightest in the fight for the championship title this season.
The match between BTR and EVOS in the play-in round was the opening match that would determine the fate of both teams. The loser was eliminated from the tournament, while the winner would face ONIC, who awaited in the upper bracket semifinals.
BTR enters the playoffs with positive momentum, having not lost to EVOS or ONIC throughout the regular season. Nevertheless, BTR coach Theonael emphasized that his team remains focused on mental preparation and strategy for each match.
"Our view for these playoffs is that we have to be ready for whoever we face . So, we're just focusing on taking things one step at a time and preparing a strong mentality and strategy for these playoffs," said Theonael.
He also believes his team has a good level of confidence heading into the playoffs, but doesn't want to get caught up in overconfidence.
"We're quite confident for this season's playoffs. We don't want to overdo it, just to avoid being overconfident. We'll remain respectful of our opponents and focus on our game and our mentality as a team," said Theonael.
