An RT correspondent reported that tents of displaced people in Mawasi Khan Yunis, in the southern Gaza Strip, were subjected to Israeli airstrikes, while local and medical sources indicated that there were deaths and injuries as a result of the raid.
The Civil Defense in the Gaza Strip explained: “Our teams controlled the fire that broke out after the targeting of the Ard al-Basal area in Mawasi, Khan Yunis Governorate, where the fire consumed a number of tents and belongings of displaced people.”
The Civil Defense in Rafah added that "the injured were transferred as a result of the Israeli fighter jets targeting a tent of displaced people on Monday evening on the beach of Khan Yunis, south of the Gaza Strip."
Local and medical sources reported that "an Israeli army drone targeted with at least one missile a tent for displaced people located near the Al-Nas intersection in the coastal Al-Mawasi area, which is teeming with thousands of displaced families."
Medical teams at Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Younis reported that "ambulances transported two bodies and 27 wounded people from the site of the attack."
Medical sources reported that "a woman and her child were killed as a result of the bombing that targeted the tents of displaced people in Al-Mawasi," explaining that "among the injured, there are at least 3 cases described as serious and critical, and they are undergoing urgent surgical interventions."
This targeting comes amid continued raids and violations targeting tents and shelters for displaced people in various areas of the Gaza Strip, despite the ceasefire agreement in effect since October 10th. According to data from the Ministry of Health in Gaza, the attacks have resulted in the death of 1,045 people and the injury of 3,380 others .
