Germany is looking to dampen Paraguay's chances of a surprise when the two teams meet in the round of 32 of the 2026 World Cup at Boston Stadium, Foxborough, early Tuesday morning WIB.
Germany entered the knockout stages as Group E winners, but a 2-1 defeat to Ecuador in their final group game kept Julian Nagelsmann's squad under scrutiny.
Nagelsmann previously said Germany's main focus was to prepare the players as well as possible for their first match in the knockout phase.
Germany opened the tournament with a 7-1 thrashing of Curacao, then beat Ivory Coast 2-1 before falling to Ecuador.
The defeat halted Germany's positive trend, although it did not change their position at the top of Group E.
Nagelsmann admitted that Paraguay is not an easy opponent to face because they have a strong playing character and can make things difficult for Germany throughout the match.
