Guineans are awaiting the results of Sunday's legislative and local elections. The vote took place five years after the 2021 coup against President Alpha Condé.
Nearly seven million voters were expected at the polls. They were to choose the 147 members of their National Assembly.
The Guinean coalition Forces Vives, which brings together the main opposition and civil society groups, called for a boycott of the election, describing it as an "electoral farce."
The presidential camp is therefore heading towards an overwhelming victory following this vote.
Guinea is led by Mamadi Doumbouya, who was elected for a seven-year term in December of last year. He came to power in September 2021 after a coup.
His regime is accused of enforced disappearances and kidnappings of dissidents and their relatives.
Observers are also denouncing the regression of democracy in the West African country, following the dissolution of the main opposition parties in March.
