The Haitian national team recorded a convincing 4-0 victory over New Zealand in a FIFA international friendly match held at Chase Stadium, Fort Lauderdale, United States, Wednesday morning WIB.
Haiti took the lead in the first half through Ruben Providence's goal in the 12th minute. The goal proved the difference until halftime after New Zealand failed to capitalize on several opportunities from set pieces.
Haiti became more effective in the second half. Lenny Joseph doubled the lead in the 51st minute before Frantzdy Pierrot extended the lead to 3-0 in the 62nd minute.
New Zealand, bolstered by a number of key players, including captain Chris Wood, attempted to overcome the pressure. However, the All Whites' efforts were insufficient to break down Haiti's disciplined defense.
Haiti then sealed the victory with a goal from Duke Lacroix in the 87th minute, securing a 4-0 victory.
Although both teams had a 50-50 percent balance of possession, Haiti was far more efficient in capitalizing on attacking momentum. New Zealand actually had the advantage in the number of corner kicks, with eight, while Haiti had five.
