The I.League has confirmed that the format of Indonesia's second-tier football competition, the Pegadaian Championship, will remain the same as the previous season, according to an official statement from the I.League on Thursday.
In the Owner's Meeting of the 2026/2027 Championship at the I.League Office on Thursday, the format of the 2026/2027 Championship season was confirmed to still use two groups of 10 clubs each with a triple round robin format, followed by a promotion play-off round, a relegation play-off round, and a final match.
The same applies to regulations regarding foreign and youth players. The foreign player usage requirements remain unchanged, with three registered foreign players, three players on the starting lineup, and three players allowed to play simultaneously.
U21 youth player regulations also continue to be implemented with the obligation to provide playing minutes as part of the commitment to developing young players.
In addition, all Championship club officials are also required to be local personnel as a form of strengthening the human resource capacity of Indonesian football.
On the same occasion, the I.League also introduced a number of improvements to increase the efficiency of competition implementation, namely clubs obtaining match calendars in advance so they have sufficient time to prepare operational plans, permits, and commercial activities.
Clubs are also given the opportunity to provide input on match schedules through a more structured feedback mechanism.
