Indonesia Open is a means of developing young badminton athletes

The 2026 Indonesia Open tournament will be used as a means of developing and regenerating young national badminton athletes by providing them with the opportunity to gain experience competing against elite world athletes.

"The opportunity to compete in a tournament like the Indonesia Open is a crucial part of an athlete's journey to the highest level. The experience of facing elite world players will be invaluable in shaping the character, competitive mentality, and playing quality of young Indonesian athletes," said BNI Corporate Secretary Okki Rushartomo in a written statement.

According to Okki, the experience of competing at the highest level can help young athletes increase their confidence, increase their international flying hours, and strengthen their competitiveness at the global level.

He said that support for the development of young athletes was carried out through collaboration between PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk and the Indonesian Badminton Association (PBSI), which focuses on developing young Indonesian badminton talent.

One of the athletes who will have the opportunity to appear at the 2026 Indonesia Open is the men's doubles pair Devin Artha Wahyudi/Ali Faathir Rayhan, who are currently undergoing training at the PBSI National Training Center.
