Janice Tjen cruised into the quarterfinals of the Birmingham Classic doubles event

 



  Indonesian tennis player Janice Tjen and her Australian partner Talia Gibson advanced smoothly to the quarterfinals of the 2026 Birmingham Classic after winning the first round in straight sets on Thursday, Western Indonesian Time.

Janice/Gibson, who were the top seeds, faced off against the Chinese-Thai pair Tang Qianhui/Manachaya Sawangkaew 6-3, 6-0 in just 47 minutes.

Janice/Gibson's dominance was evident from the first set, with a strong serve, scoring two aces , and winning 94.1 percent of first-serve points, according to WTA statistics.

Janice/Gibson continued their dominance in the second set by winning 90.9 percent of their first serves, then converting three of their three break point opportunities or 100 percent to advance to the next round.

In the quarter-finals, Janice/Gibson met the Australian-British pair Taylah Preston/Katie Swan, who had previously defeated the home pair Alicia Barnett/Samantha Murray Sharan.
