A medical source at Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City reported that the young man, Saeed Fayez Shamali (27 years old), died from serious injuries sustained as a result of a bombing carried out by an Israeli drone on Saturday in the vicinity of Firas Market in the center of Gaza City.
In other developments on the ground, local sources reported that an Israeli drone dropped a bomb on a tent sheltering displaced people in the Jabalia camp in the northern Gaza Strip, without any injuries being reported, while Israeli warships opened fire towards fishing boats and the coast of the Shati camp west of Gaza City.
The Ministry of Health in Gaza announced the martyrdom of 33 Palestinians and the injury of more than 130 others during the four days of Eid al-Adha, noting that the total number of victims of ceasefire violations since it came into effect on October 10, 2025, has risen to 930 martyrs and 2,819 injured, in addition to 781 cases of recovery.
The ministry said that the cumulative death toll since the start of the war in October 2023 has reached 72,939 martyrs and 172,927 wounded, with victims still remaining under the rubble and on the roads due to the difficulty of ambulance and civil defense crews reaching them.
On the health front, Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir al-Balah announced the suspension of operations in its operating rooms after four generators broke down and could not be repaired due to a lack of spare parts. Hospital director Raed Hussein warned that the medical facility had entered a critical phase that could lead to a complete shutdown of services if the current situation persists.
He explained that the hospital, which is the main government facility in the central governorate and serves about half a million residents and displaced people, has been operating at half its operational capacity for more than a year, warning of the possibility of the intensive care, dialysis and neonatal units shutting down in the coming period.
Hussein called on the relevant authorities to intervene urgently to provide additional energy sources and introduce new generators, in light of a worsening crisis in fuel, spare parts and medical supplies as a result of restrictions imposed on the entry of supplies into the sector.
This comes amid an unprecedented humanitarian and health crisis in the Gaza Strip since Israel began its war of extermination on October 7, 2023, which led to widespread destruction of infrastructure, including hospitals and healthcare facilities.
The Gaza Strip is suffering from a severe crisis in fuel, mineral oils, and spare parts for generators and vehicles, as a result of the strict restrictions imposed by Israel on the entry of relief supplies, medical supplies, and reconstruction materials.
Despite the ceasefire agreement being in effect since October 10, Israel violates it daily through bombing and incursions, as well as its failure to comply with the humanitarian protocol related to humanitarian aid and the movement of crossings.
