Janice Tjen was eliminated after a three-hour battle at the 2026 Eastbourne Open

Indonesian tennis player Janice Tjen was eliminated in the first round of the 2026 Eastbourne Open after battling for more than three hours in her opening match in Eastbourne, England, on Tuesday.

Janice, who was seeded sixth in the WTA 250 grass court event, had to submit to Caty McNally after going through a rubber set of 5-7, 7-6(5), 3-6, according to WTA records.

The match was intense from the first set when the two tennis players, both 24 years old, fought to win the game to tie the score at 3-3.

Janice, with her powerful serve, recorded one ace, but it was not enough to stop McNally who had a 73.5 percent record for entering her first serve, and managed to win 88 percent of her first serve points.
Janice leveled the score at 5-5, but McNally then won the next two games to take the first set.
