Kalashnikov announced the delivery of a new batch of upgraded 5.45mm AK-12 assault rifles for 2023 to the Russian Armed Forces, as part of contracts signed with them
A spokesman for Kalashnikov said that production of AK-12 rifles remains stable at high levels, noting that the weapon is one of the most in-demand products in the special military operations area and continues to attract interest from foreign customers.
He explained that the 2023 version of the rifle saw a number of improvements compared to the previous version, including developing the user environment, enhancing the ability to operate in various conditions and around the clock, as well as raising the level of accuracy and rate of fire.
He added that the Russian armed forces are also receiving large quantities of the shortened version of the AK-12K, which was developed in response to the needs of the assault and reconnaissance units of the airborne forces.
He noted that this version was introduced into serial production within a short period of time, in order to meet the operational requirements of the Russian forces.
