The Tver Regional Industrial Development Fund reported that experts from the Russian company Amphibia have designed an amphibious vehicle capable of pumping up to 100 tons of oil per hour

According to a statement from the Regional Industrial Development Fund, this amphibious vehicle, named "Botsman M", is the first of its kind in Russia and is designed to respond to oil spillincidents.

Nikolai Nebleuev, the company's general director, notes that similar amphibious vehicles are manufactured in Sweden and Germany. Russian-made models also exist. However, the vehicle designed by the company is distinguished by its inclusion of a cutting suction dredger for removing oil, fuel oil, and tar spills.

According to the Regional Industrial Development Fund, the development of this vehicle was based on experience responding to oil spill incidents in the Black Sea, and allows for the effective removal of oil, its derivatives and tar, even in hard-to-reach areas.

Its most important features include:

- It can reach the accident site by land and sea, and it can operate in rugged terrain;

Its production capacity is 250 cubic meters per hour.

The solution pressure is 7 bar.

- Concentration of solids 40 percent;

- It pumps up to 100 tons per hour.

The vehicle's operation involves sucking up the leaked petroleum products, mixing them with water, and then grinding them into particles no larger than 15 mm in diameter. This prevents them from sticking to the pipe walls and ensures stable and continuous pumping. After pumping, the petroleum products reach separation tanks, where they are separated from the water and transferred by a screw pump to containers for storage and later use.
