A Chinese study published in the journal "Frontiers in Nutrition" revealed that ginseng extract helps in treating osteoporosis.

The researchers analyzed the results of 28 studies conducted on laboratory animals related to osteoporosis and the effect of nutritional supplements on strengthening and repairing bones. They found that nutritional supplements containing ginseng extract (Panax ginseng) affect bone mineral density, internal structure, strength, and biochemical parameters of the bone regeneration process. The laboratory animals that received these supplements had much higher bone density compared to others.

Research has also shown that ginseng extract improved the microstructure of bones: it increased the number and thickness of bone rays, reduced the spaces between rays, and increased the proportion of bone tissue. Improvements in bone strength properties, including maximum load-bearing capacity and stiffness, were also observed. This means that the bones not only became denser but also more resistant to damage.

Scientists attribute this effect to the active substances found in ginseng - ginsenosides, which can reduce inflammation, reduce oxidative stress, and affect the balance between bone damage and rebuilding.

Many studies indicate that ginseng is one of the most important medicinal plants that help support immunity and strengthen the body. A recent study also showed that ginseng contains substances that improve gut health and support brain functions.
