Poltracking: MBG's popularity is the government's capital to strengthen quality

The Poltracking Indonesia survey institute assesses that the high popularity of the Free Nutritious Meals  Program is an important asset for the government to strengthen the quality of implementation and expand the benefits of this priority program to the public.

Poltracking Indonesia researcher Ahmad Ziaul Fitrauddin, in presenting the results of a survey titled " Evaluation of Government Performance and Current Strategic Issues," which was followed online  said that the high level of public attention to the MBG indicates the high level of public expectations for the program's success.

Therefore, the government needs to continue to improve implementation so that the benefits of the program are increasingly felt by the community.

"In agenda- setting theory , I borrowed from McCombs and Shaw that any program that is highly broadcast in the narrative will lock in public expectations of quality. This means that when something is highly broadcast, attention will be focused on its quality. As quality naturally becomes an expectation, it must be good," Zia said in presenting the survey results.

This condition is considered related to the economic pressure felt by some people due to the increase in the cost of living, including the impact of the adjustment in the price of non-subsidized fuel.

However, Zia believes the government has ample room to strengthen public acceptance by improving various programs that address people's daily needs.

"So, improving the accuracy of the government's priority programs must be done consistently, not just through the lighthouse program, but also through the actual community programs mentioned above. So, the negotiation table isn't just an elitist one, but also impacts the needs of the community," he said.
