The Head of the Organizing Committee and President of Equinara Horse Sports, Adinda Yuanita, said that the holding of the AEF/Mantena Cup Jakarta 2026 FEI CSI1* International Jumping Competition is a preparation event for Indonesian equestrian athletes for the 2026 Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya Prefecture, Japan.
Taking place at Equinara Horse Sports, International Equestrian Park Pulomas (JIEPP), this championship under the auspices of the Asian Equestrian Federation (AEF) and the Federation Equestre Internationale (FEI) featured the Borrowed Horse Competition.
This championship format is known as one of the most challenging classes in equestrian sports because each athlete must adapt to a new horse drawn before the competition.
"This competition is the largest competition the Asian Equestrian Federation has ever held in Indonesia. It's also part of our preparations for the Nagoya Asian Games," Adinda said at a press conference after the opening ceremony at Equinara Horse Sports in East Jakarta on Saturday.
According to him, the borrowed horse system tests the true quality of a rider because success is not only determined by technical ability, but also the speed of building chemistry with a horse that is being ridden for the first time.
"The horses are drawn, so the athletes only find out their partners the day before the competition. Therefore, adaptability is a crucial factor," said Adinda.
