Three-time belt holder Katie Taylor faces Pili in her farewell bout

The World Boxing Council  reports that three-time women's super lightweight world champion Katie Taylor will face Flora Pili to end her legendary career on September 5 in Dublin, Ireland.

"The fight will be Taylor's farewell and is expected to draw a large crowd to Croke Park, one of Ireland's most historic sporting venues," the WBC said on its website in Jakarta on Sunday.

The 39-year-old Taylor will enter the fight as the WBA, IBF and WBO super lightweight belt holder.

The Irish champion will also have the opportunity to reclaim the WBC belt and become a true champion for the third time in his career, which would further cement his legacy as one of the greatest boxers of all time.

For Taylor, fighting in Croke Park is the fulfillment of a long-cherished dream. He has expressed his desire for years to compete in Dublin's historic stadium before retiring.

Now he will have the chance to do it in front of his home fans, at a venue that can hold more than 80,000 spectators and hasn't hosted a professional boxing event since Muhammad Ali fought there in 1972.
