Sports journalist Ahmed Shobeir revealed the latest developments regarding the injury suffered by Mohamed Salah, the captain of the Egyptian national team, during the match against Iran in the third and final round of Group Seven competitions.
The Egyptian national team secured a valuable 1-1 draw against Iran on Saturday morning, thus booking their place in the round of 32 in second place with 5 points, behind Belgium on goal difference.
Mohamed Salah was injured in the match held at the "Lumenfield" stadium, before leaving the field in the 57th minute and being replaced by Ahmed Sayed "Zizo".
Hossam Hassan, the coach of the Egyptian national team, said in the press conference after the match that Salah felt pain in his hamstring, which necessitated his substitution in the second half.
According to Hossam Hassan's statements, Mohamed Salah and Fatouh are scheduled to undergo further medical examinations under the supervision of the team's doctor, Mohamed Abu El-Ela, to determine the treatment program for the trio in the coming period before playing against Australia.
Ahmed Shobeir wrote on his X platform account: “Thank God, Mohamed Salah is suffering from a very slight strain, and he will be present, God willing, in the next match. As for Mohamed Abdel Moneim, his injury is in his ankle and far from his knee, and God willing, he will be able to play in the Australia match.”
Egypt is scheduled to face Australia in the round of 32 next Friday after the latter finished second in Group D behind the United States.
