Communications and Digital Minister Meutya Hafid stated that the use of artificial intelligence (AI) for the digitalization of social assistance (bansos) and the strengthening of micro, small, and medium enterprises is an effort to strengthen the real economy and improve public welfare.
"Technology must be a tool to improve people's welfare, strengthen MSMEs, and ensure that digital transformation truly benefits all of Indonesia," said Meutya, in an official statement received in Jakarta on Wednesday.
This was conveyed by Meutya at the 2026 Indonesia Summit highlighting that AI will also be a catalyst for the growth of MSMEs, which have been the backbone of the national economy.
With the support of digital technology, small businesses will have wider market access, better operational efficiency, and the opportunity to expand their businesses to the regional level.
