| Algerian firefighting operation |
The Algerian Civil Protection authorities announced that the total number of fires recorded in the country reached 127, including forest fires, bush fires, fires in fruit trees, palm trees and agricultural crops.
The Algerian Civil Protection authorities stated that the number of fires recorded for fruit trees, palm trees and agricultural crops reached 65 fires, including one fire whose extinguishing process is still ongoing, and another fire under observation, while 63 fires were brought under control.
She said that the fire in farmland in Setif province is still being extinguished.
She noted that the fire in Skikda province had been extinguished, but the monitoring operation was ongoing.
She confirmed that the fires in the other states had been extinguished.
The Algerian Civil Protection noted that units from the Algerian army, supported by aircraft, participated in the firefighting operation.
