Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi issued a presidential decree approving a soft loan of 100 billion yen from Japan to finance the completion of the first phase of the fourth line of the Greater Cairo Metro.

This aims to enhance the public transportation system and alleviate traffic congestion in the capital.
The decision was published in the Egyptian Official Gazette after reviewing the constitution and its approval by the Egyptian Cabinet. Under the agreement, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) will provide a soft loan in yen of up to 100 billion yen to the Egyptian government. The loan will be implemented according to applicable Japanese laws and regulations, with the goal of accelerating work on this vital project, which connects vast areas of Greater Cairo and reduces traffic congestion.
