CENTCOM commander: Iran targeted 7 commercial vessels in the past week

Iran targeted 7 commercial vessels in the past week
US General Brad Cooper

US General Brad Cooper, commander of the US Central Command (CENTCOM), accused Iran of targeting seven commercial vessels during the past week.

"Over the past seven days, Iran has deliberately targeted civilians in the region, attacking seven commercial vessels, resulting in the death, injury, or disappearance of approximately 12 civilian crew members," Cooper said in a statement on Tuesday.

He noted that "Iranian forces have also launched dozens of missiles and drones at neighboring Gulf states."

He added that "US forces hold Iran responsible for unjustified aggression that continues to threaten the lives of innocent people."

It is worth noting that the United States and Iran have recently begun exchanging blows, with Iran firing on some ships that the Revolutionary Guard accused of violating the traffic system in the Strait of Hormuz, and the United States launching strikes on sites inside Iran in response to the targeting of the ships.
