Statistics from the Russian news agency Novosti show that drug supplies from Russia to South Korea increased 37 times during the last year, and their value exceeded $700,000 last June.
The agency’s statistics, based on data from South Korea’s statistics agency, indicated that the value of Russian exports of medicines to South Korea reached $735,000 last June, while it was only $20,000 in June of last year.
South Korean data indicates that the country buys the largest quantity of medicines from the United States, valued at $271.5 million, Germany ($119.7 million) and Turkey ($67.1 million).
Imports from Russia account for less than 1% of total imports.
