The Egyptian Football Association revealed important developments regarding the future of the national team captain, Mohamed Salah, with the "Pharaohs" during the next stage, and until the 2030 World Cup.

Egyptian Football Association board member Mustafa Abu Zahra explained that the coaching staff led by Hossam Hassan will continue to lead the national team, noting that Mohamed Salah will continue his international career with the team in the coming years.

The Egyptian official confirmed in televised statements that Salah expressed his desire to continue with the national team after the end of the current tournament, which strengthens the stability of the national team project in the next stage.

He pointed out that the Egyptian national team's plan for the 2030 World Cup includes Mohamed Salah continuing as the team's captain, as part of a long-term technical project aimed at enhancing the presence of the "Pharaohs" in major tournaments.

This statement comes in light of Egypt’s current participation in the 2026 World Cup, where the national team has succeeded in reaching the knockout stages for the first time in its history, and is preparing for a tough match against Argentina in the round of 16.
