According to the website "Transfermarkt" which specializes in this matter, the duo Lamine Djamel, the Barcelona star, and Erling Haaland, the Manchester City striker, topped the list of the most expensive players in the world throughout the history of football.
Jamal and Haaland topped the list with a market value of 220 million euros each, which they reached during the current year 2026.
Meanwhile, Real Madrid's Brazilian star Vinicius Junior and his teammate Kylian Mbappe (with Paris Saint-Germain) occupied third place with a market value of 200 million euros in 2024 and 2018 respectively.
Jude Bellingham with Real Madrid in 2023, Neymar with Paris Saint-Germain in 2018, and Lionel Messi with Barcelona in 2017 tied for fifth place, each with a market value of 180 million euros.
The top ten was completed by Michael Ulis with Bayern Munich in 2026, Raheem Sterling with Manchester City in 2019, and Pedri with Barcelona in 2026, with market values of 170, 160 and 150 million euros respectively.
