According to the website "Transfermarkt" which specializes in this matter, the duo Lamine Djamel, the Barcelona star, and Erling Haaland, the Manchester City striker, topped the list of the most expensive players in the world throughout the history of football.

Jamal and Haaland topped the list with a market value of 220 million euros each, which they reached during the current year 2026.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid's Brazilian star Vinicius Junior and his teammate Kylian Mbappe (with Paris Saint-Germain) occupied third place with a market value of 200 million euros in 2024 and 2018 respectively.
