Officially... the president of Al-Ahli Saudi has resigned

 


Khaled Al-Ghamdi, president of Al-Ahli Saudi Club, officially announced his resignation from his position after a three-year tenure that witnessed many achievements and championships

Khaled Al-Ghamdi, president of Al-Ahli Saudi Club, officially announced his resignation from his position after a three-year tenure that witnessed many achievements and championships.

Al-Issa took the helm of Al-Ahli Saudi in the summer of 2023, and with the club he won the AFC Champions League title twice in a row, in addition to winning the local Super Cup.

Al-Issa said in an official statement via his account on the “X” platform: “My beloved Al-Ahli fans, after my journey as president of the board of directors of this great entity for the past 3 years, which I cherish and am proud of in my professional career, today I announce my resignation from the presidency of Al-Ahli Club, which witnessed many challenges and achievements, most notably achieving two consecutive Asian Elite Championships and the Saudi Super Cup.”

He added: “All thanks to the members of the Board of Directors, the Public Investment Fund, the club’s staff, players, technical and administrative teams, the club’s fans association, and to everyone who supported us or disagreed with us out of concern for the entity.”

He concluded by saying: “Everything that has been achieved is thanks to God first and then to your great support. Today I leave the position, and Al-Ahly remains proud of its history and its fans, with my full belief that it is capable of continuing its success and achieving more in all competitions in the future. Thank you to Al-Ahly and its loyal fans.”

Al-Ahli Saudi fans launched a hashtag on the “X” platform called: “Thank you Khaled Al-Essa”, which carried many positive messages and comments for Al-Essa on his time as president of Al-Raqi.
