The British newspaper "Daily Mail" revealed the fate of German Thomas Tuchel, the coach of the England national team, after the loss to Argentina in the semi-finals of the 2026 World Cup.
According to the report, Tuchel will continue his mission with the "Three Lions" team, as he still enjoys the confidence of the English Football Association officials, regardless of the result of the third-place match or whether the team will finish the tournament among the medalists.
England's dream of reaching the World Cup final came to an end after they lost 2-1 to Argentina in the semi-finals, setting up a third-place match against France on July 19, 2026.
Tuchel has been in charge of the England national team since January 2025, after having previously coached a number of major clubs, most notably Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund.
Despite being eliminated from the title race, the English FA believes that Tuchel's project is still viable, and that the German coach is capable of continuing to develop the national team in the next phase.
