Age group players are becoming more aware of the rules of football

The Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) referee in charge of the 2025/2026 Hydroplus Soccer League (HSL) All-Stars, Imelda Setiawan Sihotang, said that the U15 and U18 girls' players are increasingly aware of the rules of the game.

"When players are given a yellow card, we also educate them (the players) about why they received the card. Sometimes they ask questions, and we are happy to explain," Imelda told ANTARA at the Supersoccer Arena in Kudus Regency.

According to him, understanding the rules has made the matches run more orderly throughout the tournament, which has been running since July 5.

Imelda gave an example of how to protest the referee's decision.

"They already understand that protesting a decision to the referee must go through the captain and not protest excessively, because that violates the rules," said the referee who officiated the U15 final match between Goal Aksis and Cipta Cendikia FA.

He admitted that a number of players still take risks when trying to win the ball, which can potentially endanger themselves and their opponents.

However, the violations that have occurred so far are still within reasonable limits and have not resulted in fatal incidents, so they can be used as learning moments.

Sometimes U15 players still make simple technical errors, such as when throwing in because the position of the feet or body movements are not in accordance with the provisions.
