Boxer Anggie Intania Chalik won a gold medal for the Indonesian national boxing team after defeating India's representative Gunjan in the final of the 2026 Asian Boxing U19 and U23 at the Basket Hall, Senayan.
Anggie won the women's light flyweight U19 final by split decision after three judges gave her a score of 29-28 while the other two judges gave it a score of 29-28 for Gunjan.
The two boxers immediately engaged in a heated exchange of blows as soon as the bell rang. Anggie was active, circling her opponent while attempting punches to break down Gunjan's defense.
Playing in front of the home crowd gave Anggie added motivation, who continued to attack until several of her hard jabs were able to land on her opponent's head.
Gunjan also showed her resilience when she was able to counter attacks until the first round ended.
The aggression from both fighters continued in the second round, with Gunian putting up a tougher fight. A series of consecutive attacks overwhelmed Anggie, forcing her to resort to defensive mode.
