Argentina national team coach Lionel Scaloni admitted that the Spanish national team performed better than his team in the 2026 World Cup final at MetLife Stadium, New Jersey, on Sunday local time.
"They (Spain) were better, that's the reality," Scaloni said, as quoted from FIFA's official website, Monday.
Scaloni admitted he felt sad following Argentina's failure to defend their World Cup title, but they had done everything they could.
The Argentine coach continued to share many things he wanted to say about their journey to get to that point, although now was not the right time.
"I want to say a big thank you to them for bringing us back to the World Cup final and fighting until the end," Scaloni explained.
