Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced his support for the Argentine national team ahead of their anticipated match against Spain in the 2026 World Cup final, during a reception for the Argentine ambassador to Israel

During the meeting, the Argentine ambassador presented Netanyahu with an official jersey of his country's national team, explaining that it had become difficult to obtain the original jerseys due to the large public demand, and that the version he presented came from the embassy after the jerseys ran out in the markets.

For his part, Netanyahu expressed his delight at the gift, jokingly saying that he "has no bias," before adding: "I wish Argentina victory."

The meeting included a telephone call with Argentine President Javier Malé, who greeted Netanyahu, expressing his gratitude for his supportive stance and encouragement of the Argentine national team, and emphasizing his appreciation for the relationship between them.

Netanyahu responded to Milley, saying: "You are a true friend and a great friend. We support you and Argentina in every way, and we wish you the best of luck in the final."

The Israeli Prime Minister also confirmed that he does not hide his support for Argentina, noting that relations between the two countries have witnessed remarkable development during Javier Milli’s presidency, adding that many Israelis will stand behind the Argentine team in the final match.

The meeting concluded with an exchange of words of encouragement, with the Argentine ambassador and Netanyahu repeatedly saying, "Go Argentina!" in a friendly atmosphere hours before the World Cup final.
