Argentina national team supporters hope their beloved captain, Lionel Messi, will not retire after the 2026 World Cup.
"Don't retire, keep playing," said Demian, an Argentine national team supporter, at Atlanta Stadium, United States, Wednesday, after the 2026 World Cup semifinal match.
Messi, who led Argentina to the 2026 World Cup final after a 2-1 victory over England in the semi-finals, could potentially play his last match for the Tango team in the tournament's final, considering he is now 39 years old and has been participating in the World Cup since 2006.
However, Demian believes Messi is still capable of competing on the pitch because he is still in very good physical condition.
"He plays like he's still 25 years old. That's crazy. I think he can still play in the next World Cup," he said.
Another Argentine national team supporter, Mariano, also has similar hopes.
"He is a great player who can bring us the championship again (in the future-ed)," he said.
