Secretary General of the Ministry of Communication and Digital , Ismail, stated that ASEAN needs to maintain an inclusive digital ecosystem to face the challenges of intense global technological competition, geopolitical changes, and challenges to digital sovereignty.
He emphasized the importance of ASEAN's commitment to maintaining centrality, strengthening regional solidarity, and encouraging constructive cooperation with ASEAN partners.
"By working together, ASEAN can continue to ensure that digital transformation drives stability, economic growth, innovation, and sustainable development for the ASEAN region while protecting shared interests in an increasingly interconnected world," Ismail said in a statement received.
Discussing the global landscape, the current challenges of digital technology development are very complex, ranging from geopolitical competition, ever-evolving supply chains, and increasing concerns about cybersecurity.
