The Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency has stated its readiness to strengthen the handling of agrarian conflicts through policy refinements, strengthened cross-sectoral coordination, and a more human rights-oriented approach.
"Agrarian conflicts are not solely related to our duties and functions in the land sector. They also involve issues of the right to life, the right to justice, the right to security, and the right to a good and healthy environment," said Deputy Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/Deputy Head of the National Land Agency , Ossy Dermawan.
Deputy Minister Ossy stated that the Ministry of ATR/BPN has received the results of the study on the Human Rights-Based Agrarian Conflict Resolution Roadmap prepared by the National Commission on Human Rights. The study provides input for strengthening agrarian conflict management.
Ossy also appreciated the preparation of the study conducted by Komnas HAM for almost three years, in which the document views agrarian conflict as a structural problem so that its resolution requires a more comprehensive approach and involves various ministries/institutions.
