The United States Basketball Federation is expected to appoint Mark Daigneault, JB Bickerstaff, and Mark Few as staff or assistant coaches for the national team to accompany Erik Spoelstra as head coach.
The International Basketball Federation (FIBA) website stated Wednesday that Daigneault and Bickerstaff, who coached the Oklahoma City Thunder and Detroit Pistons respectively, and Few are considered the right choices to help build the US squad for the 2027 FIBA World Cup and the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.
Spoelstra was previously appointed head coach of the national team after serving as assistant to Steve Kerr during a previous stint, which ended with the team winning a gold medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
USA Basketball said the appointment of new staff is part of the coaching regeneration.
